Working with Agri Business

Our purpose is to drive upskilling and sustainability on all levels in the industry. We achieve this by developing and delivering a wide ranging programme of subsidised training events, further education and development opportunities. Macra Agricultural Skillnet significantly contributes to the work of small and medium agribusiness to retain and upskill their workforce. We would be delighted to work with you to develop and or deliver and part fund a local training need. Events vary from short one off sessions to longer intensive training courses.  Content varies according to need from management, communication and other skills to more technical or practical skills.

We offer two third level qualifications to employees in the wider agri industry.

If you hire recent graduates or have team members new to management we offer a tailored graduate programme for agri SMEs. Delivered in partnership with UCC the Level 7 Diploma in Leadership for the Agri Food Sector is the ideal option for companies who wish to offer graduate employment. A brochure and full details of this course can be found here.

The Masters in Agricultural Extension and Innovation is targeted at those working directly to influence farmer behaviour and practices - ranging from those working in advisory to technical sales. This is delivered by UCD and full details can be found here.

Recruitment to both courses is in April / May each year.

We work with private companies to deliver education and training opportunities to as many enterprises in the industry as possible. Among the partnerships we have established over the last number of years are those with the Irish Farmers Journal, Teagasc, ASA, UCD, Irish Grain and Feed Association, UCC and Farm Business Skillnet, where we delivered high impact education and training programmes.

Macra Agricultural Skillnet can deliver many courses on request and we welcome contact from our members, member companies and the wider agri sector. Please see our brochure for a sample of some of the training courses and events we offer our booking page to see the current offering. If the course you are interested in is not listed, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are interested in constantly updating our offering and developing and / or delivering new courses and training events.
